What does a day in Youth Services look like? ⬇️

It can be a check-in after a difficult night, helping someone work through appointments or forms, taking time for a walk and a chat, or following up on the practical things that help move someone forward. 💛
In Youth Services, every day is different. The work is practical, people-focused and centred on supporting young people through challenging times.

The weather wasn’t exactly on our side, but our volunteers still showed up, gave their time, and did their very best to help raise vital funds for Galway Simon Community.
A special thank you as well to the Galway Simon Music Project choir, who brought music, warmth and joy to the day with their performance at 12pm. 🎶

To everyone who stopped, donated, sang along, said hello or offered a kind word, thank you. Your support means so much to us and helps us continue our work with people and families facing homelessness across Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.

And to our volunteers, thank you for standing with us, rain and all. We couldn’t do it without you. 💛

In fact, Galway Simon Community was founded by volunteers in 1979, and their generosity, compassion and commitment continue to shape who we are today.

But a meaningful volunteer experience doesn’t happen by accident. It takes planning, care, good communication and someone who understands that people give their best when they feel supported.
We’re looking for a Volunteer & Student Placement Manager to help lead and develop our volunteering and student placement programmes, supporting volunteers, students, services and teams across the organisation.

This is a role for someone who is organised, people-focused and passionate about creating a positive experience for those who give their time to support our work.
