Dunmore RFC recently hosted their Youth Rugby Awards 2026 at the Town Hall. After another fantastic season including the historic U15 Boys Division 1A League title, it was again only standing room only as the community came together to celebrate the achievements of the Under 13, Under 14, Under 15, Under 16 and U17 Boys teams and the U14 and Under 16 Girls teams.
Our Special Guests were Connacht Rugby Ho**er, Dylan Tierney Martin; Deirdre Whyte - Chairwoman Connacht Women’s Advisory Group & Board Member Connacht Rugby, and Connacht Senior Women’s player & Ireland U21 International Ella Burns. It was a fabulous evening celebrating our youth teams through the following awards, Breakthrough Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and Player of the Year.
Dunmore RFC President Jimmy Coen made a special presentation to Ella Burns, presenting her with a framed Ireland U21 jersey in recognition of her three caps during the 2026 U21 Six Nations.

Connacht star helps Dunmore U15s celebrate historic title
Dylan Tierney Martin was a very welcome guest to the Fairgreen, helping our U15 boys celebrate their historic 1A League Title. This achievement, the first A league win at Youth Level in the club’s history is a huge milestone and the club were delighted that Dylan kindly took time out of preparing for the upcoming URC QF away to Glasgow to present the trophy to captain Dylan Madden and medals to all the squad.
This squad have enjoyed continued success, winning the U13 Plate, the U14 Plate and now the league at U15 level in successive seasons. They also enjoyed a successful cup run, narrowly loosing to a good Buccaneers team in the Cup Semi Final.
A very big thank you to Dylan for helping us celebrate making history over the weekend.
