As hairdressers and barbers begin to open up in a few days, on the 29th of June. This video reflects on the time we have spent apart from the hairdressers and how it has affected us all. The hairdressers as a space is something that we have all missed in recents months since lockdown. This space brings all kinds of people and characters together under one roof and is often not only a place for haircuts but a place of meeting, chatting, opening up and relaxing amongst other things. It is a place of comfort for many, young and old, a place where you can unwind, talk about real life issues and trust that they won't go beyond the four walls. This video aims to capture the the beautiful interactions of hair professional and their clients, in all moments in life. The video highlights the fact that the closing of salons does not just effect our regrowth but our self esteem, our confidence and for some, our means of communication. It is narrated by hairdresser Debbie Dabbagh @deborahdabbagh with twenty one years of experience, as she reminisces on the days before the global pandemic of 2020 and before COVID-19 shut their doors.
