Ross Byrne. Mr Reliable. I always rated him so highly. Was never the flashiest player but always did his job with the utmost efficiency and Leinster were always in safe hands when the likes of Johnny Sexton was away with Ireland. He was a player I personally thought never really got a fair shot with the national team but that’s the nature of the sport sometimes. I’m delighted he gets to leave Leinster a URC champion and wish him all the best over in Gloucester. Thank you Ross 💙.

15 rounds down, 3 to go in this seasons United Rugby Championship. Leinster are getting close to securing top spot for good which would mean a home route to the final should we get there. The boys in blue are exactly where they wanted to be at this stage of the season with a Champions Cup semi final coming up in just under a fortnight. Competing on two fronts this late in the season has proven to be very difficult in seasons gone by but Leinster have done it time and time again. Keeping fit and focused is paramount now and if Leinster want to finally lift some silverware after a bit of a drought, shifting into 5th gear when the time is right is what it’s going to take. If anyone can do it, it’s Leinster. The 12 county army is standing with you.

Leinster completed a clean sweep for the season against our provincial rivals this evening in Lansdowne Road with a bonus point win over Ulster. The Irish Shield was secured long ago but to go 6 from 6 against our biggest rivals is very satisfying. The boys in blue showed their strength in depth with a great mix of youth and experience on show in an utterly dominant performance. Special mentions have to go to man of the match Tommy O’Brien who looks like he just did twelve rounds with prime Mike Tyson and also our hat trick hero Dan Sheehan. We remain high at the top of the URC table.

Perfect perfect Leinster. A shutout in our round of 16 clash has sent a warning shot to the rest of the competition. Leinster’s thirst for a fifth star will not be quenched until the job is done.

I’m extremely proud of the group that travelled to South Africa for Leinster’s two game tour and came back with a very respectable 5 points from a possible 10. Since the South Africans have joined the URC, Leinster have been unfortunate in the way the fixtures have fallen with the bulk of our regulars usually away for the Six Nations which has resulted in a few nasty results for Leinster in the rainbow nation in the past. Those who travelled this season should take huge pride in their showings over the last two weeks which have given Leinster such a strong lead at the top of the table. Only 4 rounds in the regular season to go with Leinster well on track to finish top of the pile. Well done all 👏.
