Here’s a brand new illustration to celebrate!

For those who may not know, Bealtaine is an ancient Irish festival literally meaning “mouth of fire” and it marks the turning into summer. When the fires of Bealtaine blazed, it was said the veil between worlds grew thin -fairies roamed, blessings were sought, and mischief lingered in the dusk.

At the Hill of Uisneach -the heart of Éire -twin bonfires were lit, and cattle were driven between them for protection as they were led to summer pastures.

Couples pledged handfasting vows beneath the rising sun, while nearby cattle markets and gatherings filled the air with trade, music, and story. A time of the promise of brighter days🌞🔥✨
