⭐ Exciting news for road safety and lifesaving skills: European Driving License Directive to Include Compulsory First Aid and CPR Training!
📌 European legislation will require all new drivers across the region to complete first aid and CPR training as part of their driver’s education and theory test. This decision is a massive step forward in preparing drivers for emergency scenarios on the road and beyond.
💯 The European Parliament’s Transport Committee adopted the provisional agreement on the Driving License Directive on 15 May, which includes this lifesaving requirement.
📅 What’s next?
✅ The agreement now moves to the European Parliament’s Plenary and the Council for a final vote, before being officially adopted in the Official Journal of the EU. Once adopted, Member States will have four years to implement the new rules.
💙 The European Resuscitation Council warmly welcomes this milestone, which reflects years of advocacy for stronger first-aid education. ❤️
