“conas atá tú,” John Collins—. RIP

A man who walked through our doors and found the rhythm of his soul in dance. John Collins—a gentle spirit with a soft smile and kind eyes—greeted the world with the warmth of “conas atá tú,” embodying the heart of the Irish language he cherished so deeply.

My last conversation - He shared how these moments—these dances, these connections—were among the most beautiful of his life. He longed for the return of Salsa Dublin, where his heart found its beat, and his spirit came alive.

John was not just a lover of salsa, bachata, and kizomba; he was a bridge between passions, hosting weekly gatherings to celebrate his love for the Irish language while bringing people together in joy and unity...

A man with a gentle walk and a gentle lead, he moved through life like a dancer on a stage—light, purposeful, and unforgettable. His hat, his smile, his kindness, his presence—they are etched into our hearts, woven into the fabric of our community.

John, you will be remembered in the sway of the music, the spark of a smile, the touch of a hand, and the light in our eyes as we dance.

Rest in peace, dear friend. You were, and always will be, the soul of Salsa Dublin.
