Hunting with Dogs passed stage 2: explained!

The Hunting with Dogs Bill passed its second stage by 60 votes to 15, moving closer to becoming law in Northern Ireland. If passed, it would ban the hunting of wild mammals with dogs, as well as trail hunting and terrier work (while retaining exemptions for activities such as protecting livestock).
This legislation would end a cruel practice that causes suffering to foxes and hunting dogs alike and public consultation responses showed strong backing for reform, with the vast majority of the public backing a ban.

This is a big step forward, made possible at this time due to Sinn Féin changing their position.
We must do the same for Fianna Fáil - and persuade them to follow the public will and back the ban.

This change in the North is hugely positive for the position of the South - it shows pressure and campaigning works, and the time is now for change.

Like this post if you see this as a step forward for all of Ireland, to a future where fox hunting is no longer allowed.
