Late Autistic Identification Thoughts. đź’ś
-
I wish I had found out sooner. That’s what I hear so many late autistic identified adults say. It’s what I said too.
-
Suddenly a life time of confusion made sense and finally I felt seen. You can go from feeling euphoric to now feeling unsure of who you are with your life finally in focus with the correct lens to then remembering all of the past moments where you were treated so badly because you were different, because maybe you stood out a little too much from everyone else, and were “othered” because of your difference.
-
It’s a cycle of thoughts that runs through my mind often post identification.
-
There’s 40 years of a back story to process. I may never process it all, but I am thankful now to finally understand who I am, and where I belong.

ID: Tweet from Elena Hung , ""She can't get inside the building because of her wheelchair."

No. She can't get inside because the building is not accessible. The building has a barrier that does not let her in. The wheelchair is not the problem; the building's lack of access is the problem.

Words matter."
