A few drinks, scrolling online, netflix, keeping busy, online shopping, impulsive behaviours, constantly having podcasts/noise on, isolation etc.

These are just some of the day to day behaviours we engage in as a form of escapism...but they are not acknowledged as this because they don't have any immediate significant impact on us.

By doing so, we don't communicate with ourselves or others in any meaningful way...constantly bypassing how we are thinking and feeling, and continuing an unhealthy pattern of behaviour that isn't sustainable and will end up in both mental and physical illness.

The body, in its brilliance, adapts.

To a world that moves too fast, demands too much, and offers too little true nourishment.

What we call distraction is a highly intelligent response to a constant, low-grade threat.

And the threat never ends.
So neither does the defense.

And now…
We don’t taste food.
We don’t feel rest.
We don’t notice breath.
We live in a body we don’t feel alive in.

We exist in constant search of “more” stimulation when what we actually need is less.

Aliveness doesn’t require another high.
It asks you to feel what’s already here.

This is the work of undoing the architecture of numbness.

And it begins inside the body, not the mind.
