They say you should set aside around 5–10% of your renovation budget for landscaping and honestly, I get it now.

Since moving into a south-facing home, our garden has truly become an extra room. The second the weather improves, we’re out there as much as possible. It’s completely changed how we use our space.

Before starting the renovation, I was determined not to just “wing it” with the garden. We decided to work with a landscape designer to create a proper plan…something thoughtful, functional, and built to grow over time.

Right now, everything is still finding its feet and the plants are quite young, but I already love how it’s coming together. I genuinely can’t wait to see how it evolves over the next couple of years.

Renovation is one of the most stressful things you can go through, but nights like tonight - putting the kids to bed in a home we love, on Christmas Eve, after watching Home Alone- make it feel worth it. After a long year of renovating, I’m so thankful for all the people who worked on our home, everyone who followed along and all the collabs that made this all possible.
