No matter where you are in the world, football has a way of bringing people together.
Across the communities where we work, it's often the first thing you'll see as the day begins to cool. A ball appears, teams form in seconds, and children fill the air with laughter.
These moments are about more than just the game. They're a sign that children have the chance to play, build friendships, and enjoy being children, something every child deserves.
As excitement builds for the FIFA World Cup, join World Vision's Andre Guardiolia for a kickabout with children in South West Sumba, Indonesia.

The recent earthquake in Venezuela has deepened an already devastating humanitarian crisis happening there. Long before the ground shook, millions of people had already been forced to flee their homes in search of safety, stability, and hope. Now, thousands more families have lost their homes, their livelihoods, and the little security they had left.
As always, children are among the hardest hit. In times of crisis, they face the greatest risks and need our support more than ever.
Please keep the children, families, and communities affected by these earthquakes in your thoughts and prayers. Together, we can stand with them as they begin the long road to recovery. Donate today: https://f.mtr.cool/cdqihpmxho

What can a few small savings achieve?
A washing machine. School fees. A sewing machine to grow a business. A repaired home. An emergency fund when disaster strikes. Even the confidence to become a community leader.
Across Vanuatu, people are proving that saving a little at a time can lead to life-changing opportunities. Through the NOURISH Project, funded by Irish Aid, World Vision's Inclusive Savings for Transformation (IS4T) groups are helping families build financial resilience, invest in their futures, and prepare for whatever comes next.
Our latest blog from World Vision Vanuatu explores the inspiring stories behind the savings books and why even the smallest savings can lead to the biggest transformations: https://f.mtr.cool/egarunblcj
Last week's earthquake in Venezuela has left families facing uncertainty as homes and buildings have been damaged. Maria Pernalete from World Vision Venezuela shares what she's seeing on the ground and why support is urgently needed.
As communities assess the devastation, children and families need emergency assistance, safe shelter, clean water and protection. Our teams are working to understand the full scale of the impact and prepare to respond where help is needed most.
Please keep the people of Venezuela in your thoughts and stand with families affected by this disaster.

In 2025, our Irish Aid -funded NOURISH programme showed that building resilience goes beyond income, helping households withstand shocks, adapt, and recover.
Here’s what that looked like:
96,500+ people supported to strengthen resilience to climate and economic shocks across five countries
75% of targeted households developed an additional income source, from climate‑resilient agriculture to small businesses
In Mauritania, the expansion of Savings for Transformation (S4T) groups reached ~ 750 women, expanding access to credit and emergency support in flood‑affected areas
In Solomon Islands, the introduction of disaster‑specific S4T passbooks strengthened preparedness and reduced reliance on distress borrowing.
In Uganda, 149 savings groups were linked with formal financial institutions, connecting over 2,700 farmers to services and strengthening transparency through digital tools.
The result?
Households are better equipped to absorb shocks, protect their futures and recover when crises hit.
Because resilience isn’t built in one step, it grows through diversified income sources, collective support, and local capacity over time.

This is why World Vision values partnerships with women: when women have the right support and resources, they invest in their families, strengthen their communities and help create lasting change.
