Did you know that Smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarms have expiry dates? They normally need to be replaced 10 years from the year of manufacture (not installation). Batteries also carry an expiry date, and may not provide reliable power if that date has passed. Aside from pressing the test button on your alarms regularly, it's a good idea to give them a hoover every so often too. Dust and spiders can enter the vents which could limit their effectiveness. #TestItTuesday
