LOCALS CONQUER TRICKY GALWAY::::::

Sunday saw the first round of the 2019 Irish Tarmac Rally Championship kick off in Galway in very difficult conditions.

Daniel Cronin and JJ Cremin in their Ford Fiesta R5, drove an excellent rally all day to stay out of trouble on the slippy and mud covered stages to set some very competitive times to claim 8th Overall and a haul of championship points that sets them up nicely for the next round in West Cork in March!

In the National section of the Rally Sean Moynihan and Cathal Quill in their Ford Es**rt MK11 finished 20th Overall and 3rd in class after a very tricky day on the stages in their RWD machine!

Well done lads, a huge achievement! 💪🏻

These people give up their free time to marshal at events so we can actually go out and compete on stages! Thanks to each one of you! On behalf of the Macroom Cork 20 Fundraising committee We would like to take this opportunity to thank a few people who made it possible for the CB Tool Hire Cork 20 Rally to run in Macroom.
Firstly we would like to thank our partners in the Munster Car Club, The Lee Valley Enterprise Board, The Riverside Park Hotel, CB Tool Hire, Cork county council and An Garda Siochana who have played a huge part in bringing this event to Macroom from the onset.
Secondly we would like to thank local businesses and traders who have put their hands in their pockets and supported us through stage sponsorship and sponsorship adverts in the event program. Believe me when I say, the event could not take place without these people, as their contributions are the key to securing the event for Macroom. Thank you so much.
Thirdly to the businesses and people who provided their premises for Scrutiny, Trailer Park, Service Park, Parc Ferme and the ceremonial start. With the cooperation from these people we now have one of the best, compact, efficient rally’s in the country.
Fourthly to the residents and family’s living on the stages and the road sections, we thank you for your cooperation and engagement with the rally. We have some of the best Roads and stages in the world here in Macroom and the rally community appreciates your cooperation.
Lastly to the people of Macroom and the Lee Valley, we thank you for coming out and supporting the rally through attending the ceremonial start, the stages, the service park and for creating a special atmosphere around the town for the weekend, it has competitors asking about 2019 already.
