Schools in Kenya close for the long holiday this week. In preparation for children being home for the next two months, we visited a number of schools over the past two weeks, dispensing sanitary towels. This program is over four years old now, and its impact has been huge. It's not simply giving out sanitary products. It has opened our eyes to the number of social problems that exist in the communities we work with. It has allowed us shape other social initiatives we undertake and helped us appreciate the very challenging conditions some girls face while simply trying to attend school. As always none of this is possible without .are.riley WeAreRiley and we really are so grateful. We also appreciate our community health volunteers and the ministry of Health and Toro who has helped out hugely this year. But in particular, thank you to our doctor Mary, who has made this project her own. She hasn't just grown the project she's also grown with it herself and we couldn't think of a better role model for the girls she serves. Maith an bhean.

In the past year, as part of our farming programs, we have organised farmers' discussion groups in the various villages we work in. Each month, farmers visit one farm in the area, and we, as Development Pamoja, attend with Nicholas, our extension officer. Last week our group in the village of Sarambei met. What we like about this group is they are all women. This month, we were at the farm of Esther Atchale. Attached is a short video of her explaining her feeding program for her cows along with a few photos of the group. Thanks to our extension officer Nicholas for organising these events ably assisted by Cosmos. Above all, thanks to all the farmers, particularly the women who attend these events and have made this program so successful. And thanks Esther for hosting us. You're a legend.
