I volunteer with a charity called supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder.

The one point I hear again and again and have experienced myself is not been seen.. Reaching out for help in so many directions and people unable to help.

The medical institute being OK with people struggling because they are "stable" or not a harm to others.

I have seen people who really want to live their life and not to just keep struggling. Everything seems like a fight, or struggle to just be seen to be heard.

It is such a lonely space to be in, to feel so separate from one's world. To see people all around "look" like they are experiencing a good life. To feel you have no idea what way you feel or to have lost hope of feeling like yourself again.

What I have seen and experienced at peer support groups in Cork, is people sharing their experiences to both give and receive support from their peers. It is a lovely space to be in where people don't have to wear a mask of "I'm fine". People show up as they are and are accepted as they are.

The work, the courage the lived experience, people have with mental health challenges is so powerful. I belive if we all spoke to each other to support each other and to be really listened to it would change the world.

The world continues to tell us to keep moving forward. Jobs, careers experiences.. More more more. Our identities tied to our jobs or place in society.

People who have experienced mental health challenges have been told by their bodies and minds to stop. The world kept pushing but it was too much and they had to let go.

This is our bodies doing what we are built to do. Only our society has labelled this as "broken" "burnt out"... Negative spin on what is actually our bodies wanting us to go back to what is truly real.

True joy comes from Service. I believe this is why peer support groups help so much for all. Also this beautiful website will be there for others to hear.

How are you feeling this evening?

Do you notice a change in your mood on Sunday evenings?

I want you to know you are not alone.

I have felt the dread creep in, I start snapping at the people in the house.

The anxiety and stress starts to feel real before I even step into the fast pace of the week.

The weekend flys by trying to do lots of family stuff and practically things like food shopping, tidying the house etc.

Take a pause here, is this how you want to continue to feel every week?

Are you willing to accept this is it, this is what I have to just endure!!

I did not accept this, the horrible feeling I felt.

You need fewer things pulling at your attention internally.

What keeps people stuck isn’t a lack of effort
it’s carrying:

Are you surviving days, not living them.

You wake up tired.
You rush.
You hold everything together.

You collapse into bed.

Somewhere along the way, life became about making a living, not living your life.

What are you actually doing?

Because I speak to so many women who say things like:

“I’m constantly overwhelmed.”

And this hit me:
