Hi all, hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas holidays and taking time to relax and chill out with their family members. ZEN Architecture have been working on a recent design to an existing 1970's style bungalow in West Cork. The design includes a major renovation to the existing dwelling, a new modern extension with outdoor entertainment and new double garage.
To avail of the SEAI grants that are currently available we are aiming to bring the existing dwelling BER rating up to an A1 rating, over and above the minimum B2 BER rating to avail of such grants through the SEAI's 'One Stop Shop' process.
The design incorporates recladding the existing dwelling and spatially rearranging the internals to avail of the fantastic views that West Cork has to offer. Currently in for planning and the clients looking forward to seeing it built.

Recent planning application for a small renovation & extension to an existing semi detached house in Ballincollig Cork. The existing south/west gable end of house allowed little if any solar/day light into the living spaces and no aspect from internal spaces outwards.
The proposal was to reconfigure and knock certain internal walls allowing expanded internal living, dining & kitchen space, punch through external gable end walls to avail of passive solar gain and extend out to garden space via a small extension onto timber decking to the evening evening sun.
If you are thinking of expanding or reconfiguring your existing home because it simply does not work for you, we at ZEN Architecture specialise in this area and would love to hear from you.

Recent design for a section of Carrigaline Community Park done through work experience by a very talented 4th year transition year student Senan O'Donovan of Carrigaline Community School.
The schematic design challenges our notion of social open spaces and addresses green areas, seating, lighting, toilet areas, water and sculptural spaces, it also includes beehives & structures and an outdoor cinema etc for people to relax, play and integrate in..... was a great 2 weeks work Senan O'Donovan and all the best for the future.
