Caring for Cork’s mental health 👍


*Stigma should not spread like a virus!* In 2019, together with 130 mental health advocates, we used a face mask as a symbol of silence.

The face mask, as we’ve come to know during the COVID-19 crisis, is a very visible symbol within our communities during this crisis.
What’s not so visible is the mask of mental health stigma, the mask of silence.

The World Health Organisation has become increasingly worried about the mental health epidemic that is expected post COVID-19.

Mental health advocacy is what Da Silly Heads is all about. Through personal experiences we know how crucial using words is to getting help, how crucial empathy is when talking to someone experiencing mental health difficulties.

Make that phone call, organise that zoom chat, send that What’s App message to your friends, families and colleagues.

Speak those first words if you are experiencing mental health difficulties during this difficult time.

Let's make sure the only mask we have to wear is the one protecting us from coronavirus.
