Bonnybrook Parish

Happy Easter to our whole community and beyond. May the joy of Christ’s Resurrection remind us that, through Him, we are made new by his grace. We are called to live in the new life he has won for us. Alleluia.

In collaboration with our Care for our Earth ministry, our parish Youth Group has pledged to complete at least 200 acts of kindness by Easter.

This initiative challenges our young people to exemplify compassion within their home, community, and the natural world. Here is a glimpse into the heartfelt pledges they have made (they have collectively signed up for 50 this week!)

Caring for our Home & Family

Support at Home: Helping Nanny with housework, washing the dishes after dinner, and bringing down the laundry.

Family Harmony: Being kind to siblings, playing with them every day, and avoiding arguments with parents.

Acts of Service: Taking siblings to their clubs and helping “Mam” around the house

Caring for Community & Others

Building Connections: Starting full conversations with someone new and talking to five people they wouldn’t normally approach.

Daily Kindness: Holding doors open, sharing treats, and offering compliments to others.

Spreading Joy: Writing and sharing joyful poems or drawing pictures for loved ones. Sharing our musical gifts.

Caring for the Earth & Environment

Stewardship: Actively picking up litter and rubbish in the community.

Nature Connection: Going on nature walk; specifically pledging to leave the phone behind, taking notice and feeding the birds.

Caring for Self & Personal Growth

Healthy Habits: Giving up energy drinks, getting to sleep earlier, and prioritizing school attendance.

Mindful Living: Playing less on games consoles and choosing water over sugary drinks.

Positive Attitude: Pledging to avoid “bad looks” and showing kindness even to those they find it difficult to get along with.

We look forward to seeing the ripple effect of these 200 deeds as we journey toward Easter! They inspire us!
