Thanks to Cecelia for the warm welcome to Le Chéile Arts Dunmanway 🥰 I am delighted to have my encaustic dreamscapes for sale in this beautiful gallery & gift shop.

I am excited to have a new piece in the Members & Friends Exhibition at in Skibbereen, West Cork. “Making Waves” is a miniature encaustic artwork, painted with melted beeswax and damar resin with pigments onto a tiny wooden panel using a small iron and stylus.

🌊 I named this piece after the gorgeous song by of the same name, after we had a lovely chat in Skibbereen not long ago. Similar to my miniature dreamscapes acting as portals to other worlds, both familiar and unseen, listening to songs that I had on CD in my early twenties takes me back to old haunts and different times when I felt lyrics deeply. Watching singers, bands and musicians playing live was a huge part of my life back then and I love taking a first class ticket on the nostalgia train to get lost in the melodies 🥰

Life is busy for me in this season and I tend to run myself ragged 🫣 so I was disappointed that I didn’t make it to the official opening of the exhibition. Thanks to my fellow artist friend for taking photos of my piece at the exhibition! Delighted to see it in situ at the gallery.

What a week 😅 It has been a pleasure to display my miniature wax paintings in the window of the gorgeous in Clonakilty, West Cork! Thank you so much to the owners Hilary & Katie for letting me set up my pieces for the week around the 🥳

I paint and exhibit with this wonderful group, . We used to meet up once a week at - many of my paintings you see on my profile were painted at these weekly sessions 🥰 While we are await the next building, we are delighted to have a space at the Clonakilty Community Resource Centre where we can paint, but we were lacking exhibition space. That’s why we decided to use the shopfronts along Clonakilty’s main streets as a street gallery 🖼️

It has been a wonderfully successful venture, thanks to the shops and businesses of our wonderful town for hosting 15+ artists. I absolutely love working on things where I get to wear more than one of my “hats” at the same time! If you’ve known me for some time, you probably know I have been a graphic designer for 20+ years, and I am now a professional artist too. So I was very excited to design the poster for the Street Art Trail, which was very well received. Thanks to for lovely hand drawn map!

This week I have also had some lovely conversations with people who have seen my paintings in the window of White Fawn Boutique - encaustic is a technique that not many people are familiar with, so I have enjoyed describing my painting technique to anyone who has been curious enough to ask me!

The art pieces in the shop window are all for sale, so if one of them has caught your eye, don’t be shy! The display in the window will be taken down later today but if you are in West Cork or Cork city and would like a closer look, do get in touch and I would be happy to show you in person 🤗
