Here are some tips from a professional pest control company. Remember our advice is always free.

• if you haven't called a tradesman, always verify who they are. Demand a company ID and check it by contacting the company yourself using a phone number you obtained independently.
• Never agree to works without a full explanation
• Never agree to works with knowing for costs and benefits upfront.
• Claims of a pest outbreak can often disarm a person of their vigilance. Be sure of what your being told and stand over the person carrying out the works or identifying the problem.
• If you didn't call a pest control company, you can always request a second opinion from a different company.
• Never part with any sensitive information.
• Take a moment to assess what information you are been given and use your head.

Using the term "if you smell a rat" doesn't really apply to this one 🙈
