Our U11 girls welcomed Broadford to Ardagh this morning for what was, for many, their first experience playing 9v9 on the bigger pitch and under full rules, including offside!
From the first whistle, Broadford applied strong pressure and showed great intent going forward. However, Kilcolman stood firm, working tirelessly to close down every attack and showing real determination in defence. When in possession, the girls drove forward with confidence, linking up well and creating some great attacking oppertunities.
It was fantastic to see how quickly the team adapted to the new format, with loads of teamwork, good communication, and endless effort on display throughout the match. Every player played their part, showing great attitude.
The future looks bright for this talented group, well done to all the girls and thanks to all the supporters.
Kilcolman Rovers Maintain lead at the top of table with resounding win away to St Itas B
Match Report: St. Itas AFC Reserves 1–4 Kilcolman Rovers
2 November 2025, Ashford
Kilcolman Rovers showed character, composure, and cutting edge in abundance as they overturned an early deficit to secure a superb 4–1 away win over St. Itas AFC Reserves. the visitors produced a performance full of teamwork, tactical discipline, and attacking flair.
St. Itas drew first blood midway through the first half, punishing a defensive mix-up to take a 1–0 lead. It was a brief moment of concern for Kilcolman, but it only seemed to light the fire within them. The response was swift and emphatic.
In the 20th minute, Denis Finn brought Kilcolman level with a composed finish after a clever assist from Conor McMahon, steering home from just inside the box to make it 1–1. From there, Kilcolman began to dominate possession, playing with confidence and width. Their second came in the 35th minute, when James O’Sullivan finished smartly following a precise cross from Scott Hurley, turning the game firmly in their favour before halftime.
After the break, Kilcolman’s intensity didn’t drop. They extended their lead in the 55th minute as Scott Hurley, involved in everything creative, latched onto a neat ball from Tony Quaid and finished clinically for 3–1. The visitors continued to press, and it was Quaid himself who rounded off the scoring in the 79th minute, guiding home a shot from a free kick to make it 4-1 and seal all three points.

Another great win for the Kilcolman U12 Girls, who travelled to Clarina today to take on Breska in the U12 Girls Cup Preliminary Round 1.
Kilcolman maintained excellent shape throughout the game, staying strong defensively and counterattacking with great energy. Our forwards, Maya and Robyn, applied constant pressure on the Breska defence, while midfielders Eva, Clodagh, and April covered acres of ground, working tirelessly from box to box.
At the back, defenders Rose, Emma, and Ellen were rock-solid, giving the entire team confidence to push forward. Kilcolman enjoyed more possession overall and were rewarded with three well-deserved goals — all superbly taken by Maya.
Orlaith Geoghegan took on goalkeeping duties and played her part confidently whenever called upon. In the second half, Mia and Niamh came on and slotted in seamlessly, showing great work rate and clever ball control.
A 0–3 away win is always a fantastic result, and once again the girls showed tremendous teamwork and spirit. While there’s always room to improve, today’s performance was full of promise and determination.
Well done girls, and thanks as always to our wonderful supporters!

SFAI Subway National Cup – Round 2
Sixmilebridge, Saturday 18 October 2025
The Kilcolman Rovers U13 boys made the journey to Sixmilebridge on Saturday afternoon for a 2pm kick-off in Round 2 of the SFAI Subway National Cup. Conditions were extremely difficult, with heavy rain and a strong swirling wind making it a real test for both teams.
Kilcolman played into a strong wind in the first half, which made it tough to get the ball forward, and Bridge United took advantage by scoring an early goal.
The boys were up against a very high-quality side and were missing a few players, but every one of them gave it absolutely everything. Denis was solid between the posts, pulling off some fine saves, and the back line of Conor, John, Colm, and Thomas worked tirelessly, putting in countless tackles and clearances to keep the team in the game.
In midfield, Clive, Jonah, Michael, Dean, and Alex battled hard all afternoon, trying to break down a very organised Bridge side and always looking to get Kilcolman on the attack. Up front, Darragh ran his socks off, constantly pressing and chasing every ball, and dropping back to defend when needed.
Before half-time, Bridge added to their lead, taking the game further from Kilcolman’s reach, but although the result didn’t go their way, the boys never dropped their heads. They showed fantastic character and that never-give-up Kilcolman spirit right up to the final whistle.
The substitutes — Narabone, Aidan, and Joseph — all played their part, bringing fresh energy and effort when called upon and supporting their teammates from start to finish.
A big thank-you went to Bridge United for their warm hospitality after the game — the tea and treats were very much appreciated. They were a lovely bunch of lads and coaches, and Kilcolman wished them every success in the rest of the competition.
Although the result wasn’t in Kilcolman’s favour, the effort, attitude, and heart shown by the boys made everyone at the club proud. Onwards and upwards — there were plenty of positives to take from the performance!
