Through industrial materials and abstract forms, Meulat Sarira by Putu Edy 'Pekong' Kharisma (Putu Edy Kharisma.W™) reflects Bali's accelerating landscape transformation.

Echoing the idyllic imagery of the Ubud School, the work reimagines rice fields as a metaphor for the tension between cultural memory and contemporary development.

Its materiality speaks to the realities of land exploitation, environmental change, diminishing public space, and the shifting social and economic landscape of Bali.

Putra Wali Acok (Putra Wali Aco) explores the fragile boundary between tradition and commodification through. Reimagining the form of the Balinese gebogan using aluminium, an industrial material closely associated with souvenir production, the installation reflects on the intersections of spirituality, commerce, and cultural consumption.

Composed of three towering structures in vibrant candy tones, the work invites viewers to consider how cultural symbols continuously shift between ritual, memory, and the realities of contemporary economies.

Born and raised in this global village, Gung
Ama’s photographic practice revolves around these discourses, which, in his view, emerge through contemporary global conditions where values, traditions, and beliefs interact and intermingle in Bali.

Through layered glass, light, photography, and wood, Gung Ama (Gung Ama) Artwork questions the image of Bali we think we know.

Fragmented figures, sacred symbols, and glowing colours blur the boundaries between tradition and modernity, authenticity and fabrication, inviting us to reflect on identity, belonging, and the realities behind paradise.
