West Sumatra is a land where identity is not just preserved โ it is lived. Home to the Minangkabau people, this province carries one of the most unique social systems in the world: a matrilineal tradition, where women inherit property and form the foundation of the family, while men lead in religious and community roles.
It is a rare harmony between culture and Islam, where tradition does not disappear, but adapts and evolves through generations..
A story of heritage, resilience, and a question that lingers:
In a rapidly changing world, what should we preserve โ and what are we willing to lose?

โ ๏ธ BALI IS BURNING๐ฅ. After heavy floods at the beginning of this year, the island now faces the opposite extreme โ but why is this happening?
In several areas across Bali, piles of trash are being burned in open spaces, sending thick smoke into nearby communities, rice fields, and neighborhoods. Just months ago, the island was dealing with severe flooding, now we are seeing the other side of the extreme.
This situation raises important questions about what is really happening on the island.
Is it because of waste management challenges?
Seasonal changes?
Or simply the growing amount of trash on the island?
Bali is known worldwide as a paradise. But keeping paradise clean and healthy takes effort from everyone โ residents, businesses, visitors, and authorities alike.
What do you think is the real solution to Baliโs waste problem?
Have you seen this happening in your area recently?
Letโs discuss respectfully. ๐
