a day with nenek

we started from the shop and went up to sebatu, north of ubud
the night before i told her my dreams felt a bit disturbed
she just said, “come tomorrow, 9am”

when we arrived, her daughter and sister were already there
felt like a whole family waiting for us

we took it slow
walking together, step by step
she guided everything without really explaining

at some point her sister kept picking leaves on the way
handing them to us, saying
“this is medicine… this too… all medicine”

we didn’t question it
we just followed

there was a lot of cleansing, a lot of sharing
but mostly just being there with them

you realize these things don’t come from books
it comes from living it for a long time
