Here’s 2 ways I train my lunges 👇
Train them compromised, at the end of a session. For example, 5x5 @ threshold into 100m lunges @ race weight for time. In a race you’ll already be under a huge amount of fatigue before you start the lunges. It’s important to get that specificity in training.
Overload from a strength perspective. 10-30kg above race weight with the goal of moving fast but efficiently. For example 2-3 sets of 25m with rest periods. Race weight will feel lighter as a result.
