Hello Poochie

11 years ago today, a tiny determined soul found me in the middle of Sangeh Monkey Forest and refused to let go.

She was only 5 months old, a stray with nowhere to be.. yet she ran every hill, crossed every river, and kept pace with me from start to finish. I didn't choose her. She chose me. And I had no choice but to bring her home.

Poochie Widodo-Schipf. She walked into our lives and quietly rearranged everything; showed us what devotion looks like, what unconditional love feels like, what it means to have a soul tethered to yours.

She left us too soon. Too violently. Too unfairly. November 16, 2021.. a morning that broke us in ways we didn't know we could be broken.

But she also left us changed. She gave us more than we ever gave her. She gave us Brownie, Poli, Junior, and Poochie Jr. .. because once you've been loved like that, you can't stop opening your heart.

Run free, baby girl. You are still, and always will be, our everything. 🐾
