The bar photo that almost ended Marilyn Monroe's career.
Fabulous people have never been limited by social boundaries, but Fox censored Marilyn after seeing this photo of her having drinks in a Watts club with William Travilla (right), costume designer for her films at Fox, and unidentified black man.
When Marilyn found out that Fox was threatening to fire Travilla as designer for "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" because of his actions, she went to the front office and said that if he went, she went with him.
The studio backed down and this incident only deepened the duo's friendship.
