The Coca Leaf and its Divinatory Arts

The oracle, tarot, herbs and seeds have been used in the art of divination. In the case of the Peruvian Andes, coca leaves have been the means for the divinatory reading of past and future events.
In the Andean worldview, coca is used as a vehicle between earthly beings and gods and is present in ceremonial rites. Coca leaf reading is knowledge inherited from generation to generation.

The winter solstice time is no longer celebrated as before, with the understanding that this is a period of "descent" and "rest", of going inside our homes, within ourselves and assimilating everything we've been through in this year that comes to an end.
As in nature and in the animal kingdom that surrounds us, this era of "hibernation" is very necessary for our tired members and our overwhelmed minds.
Modern culture teaches us to avoid this moment to the fullest: Lights, shopping, overwork, excessive expenses, meals, travel and consumerism.
However, the natural pull to go inward, as almost all creatures do, is strong and the weather is so bitter that people feel that winter is hard. While, in fact, winter is kind, it shows us the smooth and calm path towards our inner being, towards this annual time of peace and reflection, embracing the darkness, forgiving, accepting and loving.
Winter eliminates distractions, noise and presents the perfect time to rest and retire in a womb like love, bringing fire and light to our home.
And then, just around the corner, the new year will begin, and as a seed planted in the depths of the earth, we will all rise with renewed energies once again to dance in the sunlight.
