🖤🏙️ Happy Fragrance Friday 🏙️🖤

In the scorching 35°C+ heatwave, today’s spotlight, Tom Ford Noir, was maybe not the most optimal choice. But I like to wear the given fragrance while writing these pieces.

The fragrance:
It’s not an easy scent to describe, especially because pretty much everything has already been said about it online, but let me give it a try anyway. I’m usually more of a fan of fragrances that evolve while wearing them, even if those can be a hit or miss. Tom Ford Noir, on the other hand, feels like one big, complete scent that knows exactly what it is. It just does its job and stays on you for hours and hours, but never too loud. A workhorse and a crowd pleaser at the same time. Powdery violet and iris are the main things here, but there’s also a whole assortment of notes somehow blended into one smooth, mysterious, sexy package.

The photo:
I wanted to go for a slightly “metropolitan” vibe, and with a name like Noir, I had to make it black and white. Unlike last week’s 1888 - where the background and subject were flatened, I wanted this one to be a low key photo, having the darker, more mysterious aura match the fragrance itself. Also, my old flash gear is going into retirement as I’ve decided to upgrade, so I gave it one final outro gig.
