Throwback to one of the largest projects we’ve worked on in Zagreb.

Today we’re sharing a selection of exterior visualizations created for City Island, a landmark mixed-use development commissioned by .

The project included a large number of exterior and interior visualizations, as well as an interactive 3D virtual walkthrough, all delivered within approximately 10 weeks.

Today, City Island is home to , , , , .hr , .cro , TEHNIKA, Leggiero and many other successful companies and brands.

How a render is actually made.

Most people see only the final image.
But what matters is everything that happens before that.

This is one of our recent projects in Denmark, shown through the full process.

1. It starts with an idea
A simple architectural sketch. Proportions, massing, relationship with the terrain. No details, just intent.

2. Then comes the model
We build the entire house and surroundings in 3D. Every surface, every edge, every slope is defined. This is where precision becomes critical.

3. Scene development
Materials, vegetation, lighting setup, composition. This is where the project starts to feel real, but it is still far from finished.

4. Final image
Only at the end comes what most people call “the render”.
Light behaves correctly, materials react naturally, and the atmosphere becomes believable.

At Format 3D, this is not a linear task.
It’s a controlled process where architecture and visualization develop together.

Because a strong image is not about software.

It’s about decisions.

Sharing one of the visualization studies created by Format 3D for the masterplan of Dubai Creek Harbour.

These renders present the central district, envisioned as the heart of the development and the future location of the iconic Dubai Creek Tower. Designed as a next-generation landmark, the Tower features a slender, cable-supported structure with panoramic observation decks, conceived to become a defining element of Dubai’s skyline.

Dubai Creek Harbour spans approximately 6 square kilometers, combining high-end residential towers, retail and hospitality destinations, cultural venues, and extensive waterfront promenades. The central zone is organized around a monumental public plaza, water features, landscaped public spaces, and a strong pedestrian network that connects the urban fabric with the creek.

Format 3D was responsible for the visualizations, with a focus on:
• communicating the scale of the central plaza
• capturing the relationship between architecture, landscape, and water
• presenting the pedestrian experience within a high-density vertical district
• defining the night-time atmosphere and identity of the development

A project that reflects the scale of ambition shaping Dubai’s urban future.
