Invitation to the Lecture: “Neuroscience and Data Science Perspective”
As part of Brainhack Zagreb 2024, we are honored to welcome Professor Alon Korngreen, Director of the Gonda Multidisciplinary Brain Research Center at Bar-Ilan University, who will deliver an exclusive lecture titled:
🧠 "Neuroscience and Data Science Perspective"
📅 Date: Friday, December 6, 2024
🕕 Time: 6:00 PM (CET)
🌐 Location: Zoom (Meeting link: https://biu-ac-il.zoom.us/j/82649690706)
During his lecture, Professor Korngreen will:
Introduce the Gonda Multidisciplinary Brain Research Center, a hub for groundbreaking research in neuroscience.
Explore the evolution of data processing in neuroscience over the past decades.
Present the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Neuroscience and Data Science (NeuroData), a two-year master’s program designed for students from diverse fields such as biomedicine, biomedical engineering, computer science, and ICT.
The NeuroData program, conducted entirely in English, equips students with interdisciplinary skills needed to address complex challenges in neuroscience, bridging the gap between biological science and data analysis.
About Professor Alon Korngreen
Professor Korngreen has been a faculty member at Bar-Ilan University since 2001, with a distinguished career in neuroscience. After earning his PhD in Biophysics from Ben-Gurion University in 1997, he conducted postdoctoral research in the lab of Nobel laureate Professor Bert Sakmann, focusing on nonlinear dendritic integration in cortical neurons.
At Bar-Ilan University, his research delves into how neurons process information, exploring the neuronal code at the cellular level and the role of synaptic integration in neuronal activity.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a global expert at the forefront of neuroscience and data science integration!

We are proud to introduce Dinko, an Assistant Professor at the Croatian Institute for Brain Research, whose work focuses on the fascinating world of synapses and their pivotal role in the fundamental mechanisms of learning and memory.
Dinko’s research bridges the gap between microscopic morphological data and functional outcomes by utilizing advanced fluorescent imaging techniques. He is a leader in adopting rapidly evolving automated image analysis tools, enhancing the accuracy of experimental interpretations while significantly reducing the workload of manual data processing.
His innovative approach to streamlining bottlenecks in biological research is paving the way for more efficient and objective scientific discoveries. At Brainhack 2024, Dinko will share his expertise and insights into the transformative power of technology in neuroscience research.
Don’t miss the chance to hear from Dinko and other remarkable panelists this December at Algebra University in Zagreb!
