The Blue Cave - Island Biševo (Vis)

The world famous Blue Cave is concealed on the island’s eastern side, near the harbor of Balun. It became publicly known after 1884, when the entrance of the cave was physically enlarged. Accessible by small rowboats, it admits only a handful of guests at a time accompanied by a personal guide. The cave has its own natural entrance which is located below the sea level, which required that the visitors dive deeply only to resurface into the cave’s mysterious blue depths. From the time of its discovery until today, the Blue Cave has become the #1 tourist destination for travelers all around the world.

This natural phenomenon creates a magical effect of deep blue and shiny silver, mystifying her visitors. Try to visit the cave around noon when the sun’s angle precisely illuminates the cave from an undersea opening, reflecting from the base an impression of heavenly blue hues.

Our agency offer several excursion tours to the Blue Cave and Biševo island. You can find out more about these excursions in Top 5 adventures on island Vis. If you want to create your own trip we can offer you tours with speed boats that can be rented with or without a skipper. Take a tour and spend a summer day just the way you always dreamed of.

PODSTRANA- ancient autochthon village

The ancient village Podstrana is embedded beneath the hill, sheltered from the wind and protected by Saint Fabian, after whom is named the church on the top of the hill.

At distance of 15 km from town Split, 2,5 km from the sea, following serpentine road you will climb up to a place where you will think that the time has stopped for at least 100 years. At approximately 6 minutes drive from the main road, you will have a breathtaking view of sea, islands, town Split and fishing village Stobreč.

It is ethno village, one of few conserverd, with almost all stone houses and ruins under strict protection and marked as historical and cultural heritage. Therefore, on this territory it is strictly forbidden to build houses and where there’s a construction area, it is required a minimum of 1 500 m2 land area and house cannot be higher than 6 m.

Another feature is a new local road that is being built from Trogir to Omiš and it will be at distance of approximately 500 m from the village which will enable inhabitants an easier access to Split airport etc.
Podstrana is one of rare jewels where a harmony between ancient and new will be achieved thanks to local planning.

Authentic nature and abundance of spring water givee the village a special charm .
