Cetina River Canyon

Magnificent Cetina river springs at the height of 385 metres in the area of Dinara mountain and spreads over 105 kilometres finding its way to the sea.
It breaks through the Biokovo mountain, creates the impressive 200 m deep canyon and sceneries and sinks into the sea in the middle of charming Omis town.
The area of Cetina river canyon was protected by the authorities as the unique natural environment.
Cetina River was always of a great importance for the residents of the surrounding settlements. Not only it was a source of food, water, power, but also was a great natural barrier protecting the locals from foreign attacks in the history.
Long and interesting history of Omis town and nearby Poljica republic are a story for itself. Full of the adventure, pirats, kings and famous battles with Turks.
In the recent years Cetina river canyon gives an important support to the development of adventure and gastronomical tourism, specially Rafting, Canyoning, Zip Line and much more.
