Iris ili perunika hrvatski je nacionalni cvijet koji raste i u NP „Krka“, a njezino ime potječe iz slavenskog mita, u kojem se vjerovalo da perunika nikne ondje gdje udari munja gromovnika Peruna, čija je žena bila boginja Perunika. Boginju Peruniku kajkavci su poznavali kao Ljelju pa taj cvijet zovu ljeljuja, dok se za peruniku na dubrovačkom području može čuti ime bogiša, božanski cvijet.

Iris is the Croatian national flower that also grows in Krka National Park. Its name comes from the Slavic myth, in which it was believed that the iris sprouts where the thunderer Perun's, whose wife was the goddess Iris, lightning strikes. The kajkavians knew the goddess Perunika as Ljelja, so they call this flower ljeljuja, while the name bogiša, the divine flower, can be heard for the iris in the Dubrovnik area.
