Sailing Tours Roatan

Twenty years ago, this month Julie & I sailed across the Pacific Ocean on our 44’ sailboat Free Radical. After sailing almost 3000 miles in 21 days from Galapagos to the Marquesas Islands we finally dropped anchor off the island of Fatu Hiva (Jurassic Park). We would spend months meandering through French Polynesia and remain continuously in awe of our surroundings.

Early 1980's on a small lake in Ontario, Julie & I on our Ajax 28, Clay & Sue Gerling on their C&C 29, and Rick & Deb Haigh on their Tanzer 7.5m.

Racing was never more fun than this and never would be, all informal & no rules. Years later we raced in the Heineken Regatta in St Martin but it never came close to good old Chemong Lake.
