Agriculture Sector Development Unit

The SRDC recognises that women encounter numerous obstacles in their daily lives.

Therefore, the SRDC has collaborated with HESAD to establish a platform for women from the South Rupununi to gather for two days to strengthen women's knowledge and understanding of gender and social inclusion, leadership roles, learn about best practices from current women led initiatives, and to engage with one another. It is expected that over 100 women will meet in Parikwarnau Village for the conference.

The SRDC aims to create an environment where women may freely discuss issues that impact them and what kind of development they want to see in their communities.
