HAPPENING NOW || Representatives from the Local Content Secretariat, the Ministry of Natural Resources, ExxonMobil Guyana, and tier one contractors, including SBM Offshore, attend the handover ceremony for Letters of Approval for Local Content Plans at Roraima Duke Lodge, Kingston, Georgetown.

The approvals form part of Guyana’s local content framework, which requires companies operating in the oil and gas sector to submit plans outlining how they will use Guyanese workers, suppliers, goods, and services in support of the country’s petroleum industry.

ExxonMobil Guyana’s 2025 financial performance was supported by 102 crude oil lifts from its share of Stabroek Block production. The company generated US$8.1 billion (GY$1.7 trillion), in revenue for the year. Profit dipped slightly because of lower realized oil prices.

GranMorgu will develop the Sapakara and Krabdagu discoveries, located about 150 kilometers offshore Suriname. The project is designed around a floating production, storage and offloading vessel with capacity of 220,000 barrels per day.
