Tugboat MV MIKHAIL is in dry dock for routine maintenance — one of our most versatile vessels that serves our clients’ needs in the Demerara and Berbice rivers.

Today in Kwakwani (Region 10), a pontoon crossing 2 container trucks started to sink.

Luckily, Alpha Marine’s tug “Isaac” happened to be nearby loading logs onto one of our own barges when we received the distress call. We quickly ceased operations to assist.

Utilizing tug, barge, and excavator, we were able to provide rescue services to the sinking vessel and the submerged container trucks before they sustained further damage.

Earlier this week, tug “Mikhail” set out with 1 barge and 2 excavators to dredge a client’s wharf facility on the Demerara river.
