Prayer plants (Calathea) are one of the favourite plants that we have in stock. Their beautiful decorative leaves are usually flat during the day then fold up like praying hands at night.

These plants love to be kept in a warm, shady and humid environment and do best when watered regularly in order to maintain a consistently moist (but not soggy) soil. Depending on your home environment, this may mean watering your prayer plant every few days, once a week or once every other week—the most important rule of thumb is to never let the soil dry out.

Chinese Evergreens (Aglaonema) are among the popular house plants that we have in stock at Dee’s Plant Shop. These pretty houseplants require little effort when given the proper growing conditions including placing them in well-drained soil, medium to low light conditions or indirect sunlight. Chinese evergreen plants enjoy moderate watering—not too much, not too little. Allow the plant(s) to dry out a bit between watering. Overwatering will lead to root rot. Chinese Evergreen are air purifying plants. They are also believed to bring luck.
