Spotlight on Shanette Dey
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Shanette Dey, guyanese psychologist, mental health advocate, and media presenter, for her powerful contribution to our Tea Party.
Shanette shared an insightful and deeply resonant perspective on wellness, reminding us of the importance of setting boundaries and learning to say no, a vital act of self-care, especially in a world that often demands more than we can give. Her message encouraged reflection, balance, and intentional living, and it truly enriched the experience for everyone present.
With her extensive work in youth mental health, trauma support, su***de prevention, and advocacy through initiatives like Mind est 2018 and “When Men Speak,” Shanette continues to create safe, transformative spaces for healing and growth. Her work across counselling, radio, television, and education reflects a deep commitment to mental health literacy and emotional wellbeing in Guyana.
Thank you, Ms. Dey, for sharing your voice, your wisdom with us. Guywid is truly grateful for your presence and the meaningful impact you made at our Tea Party. ❤️
