Για σχεδόν τέσσερις δεκαετίες, η Σούλα Παναγόπουλου είναι μία από τις σταθερές παρουσίες της Γενναδείου Βιβλιοθήκης. Από το 1987, με ευγένεια, υπομονή και βαθιά γνώση των συλλογών, έχει εξυπηρετήσει γενιές ερευνητών και έχει συμβάλει καθημερινά στη φροντίδα των βιβλίων μας. Με αξιοθαύμαστη ακρίβεια, εντοπίζει σχεδόν κάθε βιβλίο στα βιβλιοστάσια.

Με την ίδια αφοσίωση επιμελείται τους τόμους που χρειάζονται συντήρηση και βιβλιοδεσία, ενώ από την περίοδο της πανδημίας έχει αναλάβει και το μεγαλύτερο μέρος της κατ’ εξαίρεση υπηρεσίας ψηφιοποίησης, ώστε οι ερευνητές να μπορούν να έχουν πρόσβαση στο υλικό της Βιβλιοθήκης και από απόσταση.

Η εμπειρία, η φροντίδα και η διακριτική της παρουσία αποτελούν ένα πολύτιμο κομμάτι της καθημερινότητας της Γενναδείου Βιβλιοθήκης.

Faces of the Gennadius Library

For nearly four decades, Soula Panagopoulou has been one of the familiar faces of the Gennadius Library. Since joining the Library in 1987, she has welcomed generations of readers with kindness, patience, and a deep knowledge of our collections. Colleagues know her for her remarkable ability to locate almost any book in the stacks.

With the same dedication, she prepares books for conservation and rebinding, ensuring that every volume receives the care it deserves. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, she has also taken on much of the Library's exceptional scanning service, helping researchers access our collections from afar when in-person consultation is not possible.

Her experience, care, and quiet presence have become an invaluable part of the everyday life of the Gennadius Library.
