They don't know they're changing the future. They just know they're hungry... and tonight, life feels a little safer. 🐾

These are some of the street cats of Nea Chalkidona, an Athens suburb where local rescuer Eleni Tseliou spends her days earning the trust of cats that have learned to expect very little from people.

Some are friendly. Some keep their distance. One by one, they are safely trapped, neutered, recovered and returned to the places they know.

It's quiet work. Often unseen. But it's one of the most powerful ways we can change the lives of stray animals.

Thanks to the generosity of Greek Animal Rescue supporters, we've funded the neutering of 30 cats in Nea Chalkidona, helping to stop the next generation of unwanted kittens before they're born into a life of hunger, illness and struggle.

Eleni has just sent us this update: "Thanks to your help, we have successfully neutered 23 cats so far! Thank you once again for your support and for helping us make a real difference in these animals' lives."

Every trap set, every cat safely recovered and every neutering completed brings us one step closer to a future where fewer animals need rescuing at all.

That's what we mean when we say responding today, neutering for tomorrow.

Thank you for making it possible. 💙🐱

One of the greatest privileges of GAR's work is the people we meet.

For nearly 40 years, we've worked alongside extraordinary people across Greece who quietly devote their lives to caring for stray animals. They aren't looking for recognition. They simply see an animal in need and refuse to walk away.

Today we'd like you to meet one of them.

This is Antigoni Mergiali from Volos. Every day she feeds and cares for the stray cats in her neighbourhood. They know her, they wait for her, and they rely on her.

Our food programme isn't just about supporting shelters and rescue organisations. It's also about helping local people like Antigoni continue doing what they already do so selflessly.

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to send food to help her care for the cats she looks after.

Antigoni sent us this message: "A huge thank you to your organisation for the donation! This help is vital for the daily feeding of the strays in my care. It is heartening to know there are people like you supporting this cause. Thank you for your kindness!"

When people ask us what gives us hope, it's people like Antigoni.

Every town and city in Greece has compassionate people doing their best for the animals around them, often with very little support. Being able to stand beside them and help carry that load is one of the most important things GAR does.

Thank you for making that possible. ❤️
