Role—Play
➺ At Home with Mr. Themis is an online exhibition by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Public Humanities Initiative (SNFPHI), opening apartment in Exarchia and his eclectic personal collection to the public. Bringing together folk art, fine art, books and everyday objects, the collection offers a layered view into Greece’s cultural and economic life.
➺ The challenge was to translate this dense, highly personal environment into a digital experience while preserving the feeling of an in-person visit. Rather than creating a fixed archive, we approached the exhibition as an evolving process. We used the visit itself as the core structure, inviting specific visitors to act as archivists, each navigating the space and uncovering stories through their own perspective.
➺ To support this, we opted for simple panoramic views that maintain the richness of the apartment without adding visual distortion. The result is an open, growing archive shaped by exploration, proximity, and continuous discovery.

Zigoala’s minisite functions as a digital archive. Not as nostalgia, but as raw material.
A collection of collaged images from Athens, Omonia and the city’s commercial center, fragments of everyday life blending with the sounds of Zigoala’s playlists: a journey through 20th century’s greek music.
