Dr. Savvas Hirides as an invited speaker to the 1st Robotic Surgery Symposium of the Romanian Society for Laparoendoscopic Surgery (ARCE) with international forum, which took place in a joint meering with the 10th Symposium of Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery, 23-24, November 2018 in Bucharest. Cypriot General Surgeon Dr.Hirides from Athens Medical Center, travelled to Romania to be "among friends" as well said by famous bariatric surgeon Dr.Catalin Copaescu who was also president of th congress. Among the world famous speakers participating in the meeting were: Dr.I.Popescu, Dr.G.Gortchev, Dr.B.Safadi, Dr.J.Dargent, Dr.L.Angrisani,Dr.V.Tomulescu, Dr.I.Coman, Dr.R.Sener, Dr.S.Tomov, Dr.O.Stanciulea, Dr.N.Crisan και Dr.J.Colpaert.

During the last two days, Dr Hirides gave three lectures with the following titles:

- Robotic Hiatal Hernia Repair. Dilemmas in Obese Patients.

- Robotic Inguinal Hernia and Sports Hernia Repair. The future is here for hernia surgery.

- Robotic Single-Site Cholecystectomy. Our technique for Scarless Gallbladder Surgery.
