Swimming banned on dozens of Volos beaches due to health concerns
The Central Port Authority of Volos has imposed a ban on swimming along a significant stretch of coastline in the Volos area, citing public health concerns. The ban, which affects beaches from Agria in the east to Agios Georgios Kynigas in the west, was prompted by the recent appearance of large quantities of dead fish washing up from Lake Karla into the waters of Pagasitikos Gulf.

He defended his government's efforts to tackle inflation, asserting that the measures taken to curb price increases have been effective. "Inflation is declining, and for the second month in a row, food price increases in our country have fallen below the European average," Mitsotakis claimed. He emphasised that a detailed comparison of product prices from last year to this year would demonstrate the effectiveness of the government’s efforts.
