“The Mandela Effect”
The term, coined in 2010, arose from the shared false memory that Nelson Mandela died in prison during the 1980s — when in fact, he was released and passed away in 2013.
Explanations range from cognitive theories about memory and its distortions, to the belief that it’s proof of parallel universes.
But what if the classic cocktails we know are merely the foundation for everything that followed — not frozen in time, but evolving through it?
“Classic” means timeless.
Yet something about it never felt quite right — as if it could always be made better. Or… maybe I just remember it wrong?
