People that have made their artistic career during the 90's and speaking for today's artists, or giving humorous instructions based on how they made it, or even giving "tips and tricks" that worked for them DURING that era, is frustrating in a way, because we are speaking of a completely other context and opportunities.
Younger generations, generations that launched as artists in the 2000's, have to deal with a tremendous economic problem in all societies, political extremism and racism that forbids the artistic culture to nurishand to spread, numeric systems that record labels and agencies are focusing on instead of talent and how important souls exist out there, and a massive social media influence that stops the "face to face" communication to expand, as well as from celebrities to carry around bodyguards and a no-access zone vibe, are some of the very few reasons that today's art is really not making it through.
We are also called to "break the wall" by individualism, in which in any context or era has managed to achieve it. Individualism is a big part of today's society, implied by a system that not even the leaders of today are applying. No one has ever made it possible to break a wall by himself, or even if he did, died of tiredness. No one from the era I mentioned above has made it through by himself, if it wasn't about collaborations with other people, meeting personas that pushed them to reach this moment. Therefore, there is no "self-made", we are all ones that got through by uniting, by connecting with other ones. Get this right.
Together we stand, united we fall.
- By a person that still tries for him and for all that carry the idea. Rako.
