‼️ participated in the 7th meeting of the Interdisciplinary Working Group for the Protection of Victims of , contributing to the discussion on preventing trafficking and in the hospitality sector.
👥️👤The meeting was organized by the General Secretariat for Vulnerable Persons and Institutional Protection | Heracles Moskoff - sgvp of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum | Υπουργείο Μετανάστευσης & Ασύλου and also hosted the activities of the HOST – Tackling Human Trafficking in the Hospitality Sector project, bringing together national authorities, international organizations, and other key stakeholders.
💡IOM highlighted the importance of due diligence in recruitment processes as a key mechanism for preventing labour exploitation and protecting workers and potential victims.

🤝 Building stronger communities through collaboration and knowledge exchange!
Within the framework of Helios+ Project , and International Rescue Committee , in collaboration with the 📍Municipality of Chalandri, organized two workshops to strengthen the capacity of local service providers in promoting inclusion and intercultural understanding.
Through these interactive training sessions, participants enhanced their knowledge and practical skills on interculturality and social inclusion, while gaining a deeper understanding of the everyday needs and challenges faced by refugees and migrants.
The workshops focused on fostering inclusive, culturally sensitive service delivery and strengthening referral pathways to ensure that people can access the support they need.
The employees of the Community Center of the Municipality of Chalandri actively participated, sharing real-life examples and experiences from their daily work supporting vulnerable populations in the local community. The presence of the Deputy Mayor for Sports, Youth, and Refugee and Migrant Support highlighted the Municipality's strong commitment to promoting integration, social cohesion, and effective collaboration with IOM.

🚧 Construction works have officially commenced at the Koutsochero CAFTAAS under the GReCE Specific Action.
Since late June works have been underway to enhance reception conditions and expand the site's accommodation capacity by creating 544 additional accommodation places.
The project includes the installation of:
• Rubb Halls
• WASH, kitchen and laundry containers
• Supporting infrastructure necessary for the operation of the new facilities
Current activities focus on site preparation and earthworks within the designated intervention area, marking the first step towards improving living conditions and strengthening the site's reception capacity.
Τhe Specific Action "Greek Reception Capacity Enhancement (GReCE )", MIS 6017647, is implemented by IOM Greece in close coordination with the Υπουργείο Μετανάστευσης & Ασύλου , with the support of the ΤΑΜΕΥ - Ταμεία Μετανάστευσης και Εσωτερικών Υποθέσεων and co-funding by the European Union.
