The Venetians called it “Fioro di Levante” which means Flower of the East. You might have heard it as Zante. We call it Zakynthos and we love it!!!!
Zakynthos is one of the islands of the Ionean sea, and in our opinion one of the most beautiful and balanced islands of Greece!
It is a green island with rich vegetation and with temperate climate. Its beaches and its coastline are simply breathtaking! Navagio beach is one of the most photographed beaches in the world and yet no photograph can really imprint its true beauty.
The interior is full of green hills and picturesque villages. You can feel its rich history everywhere you look.. in the architecture and the ruins that date from the antiquity to the 19th century.
It has 7000 thousand different kinds of flowers some of which are native to it. In Zakynthos you will see some of the oldest olive trees in the world.. 2000 years old and more. It is also a prime nesting area for the loggerhead sea turtles that visit it every year to breed.
So adding up.. turquoise and blue water beaches, very interesting underwater world, green interior, picturesque villages and capital, rich flora and fauna, secluded and relaxing areas as well as the non stop party of Laganas, and 2 thousand years of history for a visitor to enjoy in its architecture, its ruins, and its museums… what else could you want?
And not forget to add.. the Zakynthians! Always polite and warm hearted!!
You can see and enjoy everything, in a relaxing way as long as you plan your journey efficiently.
To get a glimpse of Zakynthos, check out its photo Album in our photos.. We are sure you will enjoy it!
What are you waiting for? Add Zakynthos to your future destinations and we promise it will be a lifetime experience!

It has the shape of Poseidon’s trident sticking out in the Aegean Sea. Chalkidiki is situated at the north of the country. It consists of three peninsulas which in Greece we call them the legs of Chalkidiki. Three legs three totally different characters!!!
Kassandra, the western leg, is cosmopolitan, with large modern hotels and resorts and a never ending vibrant life… when the night ends the party continues at the beach bars.
Sithonia, the middle leg, is full of hidden treasures, countless secluded beaches, and pine tree forests.
Athos.. well Athos is a travel back in time!!! In Athos there is Agio Oros (Holly mountain) which is a unique monastic community. It comprises of 20 majestic monasteries. It has been virtually unchanged since the 12century.
Special arrangements have to be made for someone to visit it. The bad news is that ladies are not allowed to enter… the good news is that they can stay either at Cassandra and Sithonia and enjoy for another day the lush green pine forests and the turquoise sea!

The romantic gateway of the Aegean Sea, Santorini, is actually an active volcano!!
The island came into existence as a result of 12 huge volcanic eruptions occurring approximately every 20.000 years. The last one was the cause for the extinction of the Minoan civilization in Crete. Nowadays this is the prevailing theory as to whom Plato was referring to, when he mentioned Atlantis.
But don’t worry!!! The last big eruption happened 3.500 years ago… we can keep enjoying Santorini for the next 16.500 years!!!
